Centrifugal Fan

We offer centrifugal fans in a wide variety of speeds, voltages, horse powers and configurations. The following defines how we group and lay out these fans in our model designations. Please review and understand the following:

F Centrifugal Fan Model Designations

F27101-230

The number above represents a CECO centrifugal fan that is low speed (1750 rpm), has a 27" diameter wheel, a ten horse power 230 volt motor, single phase, without a control panel. Lets break it down.

F27101-230

This F stands for our low speed centrifugal fans. All low speed fans have open drip proof (ODP) enclosed motors standard, unless specified otherwise (See Below). These fan normally appear in on-the-farm locations.  Low RPM is 1750. CECO also offers high speed fan: Click Here.

F27101-230

The number in this location defines the diameter of the centrifugal wheel.

F27101-230

These numbers represent horse power and phase. In our sample we have a ten horse power motor that will operate on single phase power.

All low speed motors operate at 1750 rpm. Single phase (1ph) motors operate on 230 volt power. Three phase (3ph) motors may operate on either 230 or 460 volts. Three phase fans ordered without controls are shipped with wiring connections open, for field wiring to correct voltage. Three phase fans ordered must have the voltage specified, as field voltage conversion requires changing entire control panel.

F27101-230

This space represents if the fan has controls or not. Our example fan has a dash meaning no controls are here. If the letter C is shown, a control panel is built into the fan.

Fans with 230 volt controls include mounted weather-resistant starter panel. Panel consists of magnetic contactor with line-voltage (230 volt) coil, motor overheat protection, and off-run-start toggle switch. Fused 115 volt interlock outlet is provided on units 5 HP and larger. A neutral wire must run to the unit with the power wires to provide 115 volts at the outlet. Starter does not include fuses for branch circuit protection, or an electrical disconnect. An electrical disconnect that is visible from the fan must be added!

Fans with 460 volt controls (three phase only) includes mounted weather-resistant starter panel. Panel consists of magnetic contactor with line-voltage (460 volt) coil, motor overheat protection, and start-stop push-button. Fused 115 volt outlet is provided on units 5 HP and larger.  An auxiliary contact for interlock a separate 115 volt power supply is available on request, at no extra charge. If separate 115 volt wiring is not available and the 115 volt interlock outlet is needed, a step-down (460 to 115 volt) transformer must be ordered. Starter does not include fuses for branch circuit protection, or an electrical disconnect. An electrical disconnect that is visible from fan must be added.

F27101-230

These number represents the voltage of the fan. If no controls are required (as our sample does not) this is what voltage the motor will be wired for and ready for your electrician to complete the installation.

If your fan needs controls (dash mark to be replaced with a C) this is the voltage that those controls will be wired for. See above for information about controls and voltages.

F27101-230G

Now we have added this G representing a all galvanized housing. CECO does not use bolts or a fastening system to join the main body of the housing together.  All housing are mig welded together to form a rigid structure which is restraint to high vibration. After the welding process, housings are hot-dipped forming a complete galvanized unit. This process is standard with all CECO fans. If you prefer we offer the following options.

Powder Coating: CECO offers powder coating service as an option over galvanizing. We powder coat all fans white, with control panel lid and intake cone black. No letter designation is used in the part number. Please specify this option with the dealer when ordering.

High Solids Paint: CECO offers a high solid paint service. Standard painted housing are premiered and then painted red (all so known as South East Red). No letter designation is used in the part number. Please specify this option with the dealer when ordering. Other color schemes can be provided. Please have your dealer inquire at the factory.

F27101-230GTH

By adding these letters we have specified our fans configuration. Unless specified otherwise, all CECO fans will be shipped Bottom Horizontal (BH) discharge. For Top Horizontal, add "TH" to model designation; Up Blast, add "UB"; Down Blast add "DB". See chart below.

F27101-230GTHTE

Totally enclosed, fan cooled motors may be ordered as an option, replacing standard ODP motors. Add the suffix "TE" to the model designation. Single phase fans with TEFC motors may be specially ordered as needed.
